VALLEY: Another miracle of Gobi Desert in
Mongolia is Three Beauties of Gobi as a massive rock stone mountain. This
mountain has steep rock walls followed a continuous river flow. Length of Yol
Valley continues 8 km.
The mountain gorge named after
Lammergeier, which is called Yol in Mongolian. Locate at height of 2800 m above
sea level, in area of 64 sq.km. Yol Canyon forms a gorge that is deep and
The ice field reaches several
meters thick by the end of winter, and is several km long. In past years it
remained year round, but the modern ice field tends to disappear by September.
Although the sun shines a lot in this sight, the canyon remains dark and some
of the cliffs are 200 m tall, so that in the bottom, a part of the river
remains nearly all year long covered by a thick layer of ice.
This area has been main
attraction of tourists for many decades. Very wide at the entrance, it narrows
gradually into a remarkable gorge. When tourist walks through in this narrow
valley, they greet each other and exchange some words.
