Natural and historical tour

 

Day 1: Arrive to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. English speaking guide will meet you in the arrivals hall at Chinggis  khaan airport. Transfer to the hotel and check in to your room. Guide will introduce tour itinerary and remind required information. (D)









Day 2: Drive to Khustai National Park which is a protected area, 100 km to the west side of Ulaanbaatar city. In the middle part of the area has a beautiful nature with birch trees. A unique Mongolian wild horse – Takhi had last been seen in 1960, since then it has been reintroduced to its native habitat in Mongolia at the Khustai in 1992 and was brought from Holland which originaly was sold to a European wealthy farmstead in the early 1900. In the afternoon, go to Mini Gobi- Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. You can easily master the basic technique of camel riding during the sunset. Beautiful views at Khugnu Khan Natural Reserve will see ruins of ancient temples where Buddhism spread. Experience sleeping in a ger camp under the sky, full of shining stars, fresh air and beautiful nature. (B.L.D)




Day 3: Visit to Kharkhorin city. This town is built on the original site of the ancient town of Kharakhorum, which for a short time served as the capital of the Mongol empire in the XIII century. Only few relics, such as the stone turtles, remain. Travel with the opportunity to feel real ancient time. Meanwhile, you will see the Erdenezuu monastery, Mongolia’s first Buddhist center which was founded 430 years ago. Overnight stay at the riverbed of Mongolian longest river Orkhon. (B.L.D)






Day 4: Visit to Bilge Khaan’s tomb complex (last king of Turkic Empire) one of the top 3 states which was Turkic Empire in the Mongolian territory, will explore more about their achievements and findings during their conquests. Findings are restored and protected in the museum. Ramsar Convention has registered Ugii lake in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance for being important breeding and staging area for a variety of waterfowl. Stay in a ger camp nearby lake and you can go kayaking, rafting and also go fishing. (B.L.D)

Day 5: Drive back to UB. Rest at the hotel. (B.L.D)




Day 6: Discover Ulaanbaatar city tour: Visit to the Bogd Gegeen VIII winter palace museum. There is large number of artifacts on display. (You will see the original), Your tour also takes you to the Sukhbaatar Square located in the heart of the city and will see the transition of historical buildings and nomadic city life into urbanization. In the afternoon, you will visit to National History Museum which has over 200 years of rich history, glorious, violent and noble past, from prehistory to Soviet period, including the establishment of the great Mongolian Empire by Chinggis khaan. Next, visit to the Nomin Department Store, shop for the souviners. After, you can see a live performance of Mongolian folklore Tumen Ekh Ensemble. At the end of your tour guide will take you to your hotel.  (B.L.D)
