Overview

This tour gives the great opportunity to travel in different natural landscapes of the Mongolian Gobi, while travelling in the hotspots which made Mongolia prestigious around the world by its dinosaur fossils. The tour will be led by Mongolian paleontological scholars, and with many years of experience, and the tourist is provided by field trips, meals, and overnight stays. During the trip, the tourist will ride a two hamped camel which comprises a 10% of total camel in the world and watch the sunrise in the Gobi desert. The Mongolian Gobi is an extremely quiet, dry and uninhabited region attracting a lot of tourists. Despite the dry desert climate, the animals live there and the plants, flowers grow. In your trip, plenty of wild animals occur running in wild nature.

Itinerary

  • Arrival in Ulaanbaatar.
  • Take a short break to explore UB and to see the dinosaur museums in the city.
  • Stay in a hotel.
  • 08:00 Drive to Tsogttsetsii soum in Umnugovi province.
  • Lunch in Mandalgovi town.
  • Stay in a hotel.
  • Drive to the east to Khanbogd Mountain and Demjig monastery.
  • Explore the history of the monastery and tour surrounding rock formations.
  • Drive to Ergeliin zoo, fossilized wood in Suinkhent Mountain, Shar tsav with dinosaur footprints. These are places that have been named in the field of paleontology, and in particular, the Shar tsav, which has been the focus of recent attention of scholars.
  • Drive to Dalanzadgad town.
  • Visit Bayanzag, a legend in paleontology and spend the day there.
  • Stay in a tourist camp for overnight stay.

  • Drive to Tugrug shiree where the famous ‘Fossilized fight’ was discovered in 1971.
  • Head to Khongor sand dune, one of the largest sand dunes in Mongolia. Camelback riding the direction of the sunset.
  • Stay in a tourist camp.
  • Drive early to the Khermen tsav, also known as Mongolian Grand Canyon, in Gurvantes soum.
  • Stay in the middle of an unusually beautiful landscape for overnight stay.
  • Journey through the tunnels of Khermen tsav.
  • In the afternoon, arrive in the Nemegt Valley, where the carnivore and the giant Nemegtosaurus was found and set the tent.
  • In the afternoon, take a tour of the Dungenee Valley and the Yol valley in Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park.
  • Have a rest in the dinosaur park.

  • Visit the Museum of Natural History.
  • Head to Tsagaan Suvarga after lunch.
